Good Evening Tennis Players,
The US Open is over. Congratulations to Rafa Nadal and Serena Williams. Both great tennis players and fantastic matches. After watching Serena fight for every point against Victoria Azarenka she came out of it with cries of frustration and joy. One of the more iconic images of the night being….
She finished off the match winning 7-5, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1. Defeating a distraught Azarenka. The Minsk born girl cried sitting down after the match as Serena did what could only be described as a happy dance to her chair. Of course Serena deserved to dance after such a hard match but hearts go out to Azarenka who played very well.
The Women’s final was a great match to watch, and it got viewers perfectly ready for the Men’s Final. Novak Djokovic vs. Rafa Nadal. Going into it Rafa came out on top of the first set 6-2 though he lost in the second set 3-6. But, Rafa pulled out a 6-4 set for the third and killed Djokovic in the fourth set winning 6-1. It was a beautiful match to watch. Both men had some rough patches through out the match. Djokovic after the second set seemed to make mistake after mistake. Hitting shots too wide, netting his forehands, and other minor errors that cost him the games. Nadal as the night went on, however, seemed to get better and better.
